Game Day! =]

Today I read online about Video Games & Art and Video Games & Familes. Here's my response below.

Video Games & Art

Video game design now art not only a design for themselves, but they influence other art forms. It is now also a cultural art that it is being taught in many universities for education and design. Video game design is now a popular art. It helps the movie industries influence their storylines and helps create a new form of partnership between them and the people of the entertainment software. It helps the relationship of movies and games to be expanded tremendously. Video games also help make creativity not only for visual arts, but for music as well. Contributing tracks into the video games also helps launch the artists.

Video Games & Family

Video games are a great source for families to come together and entertain themselves. Parent’s today seen that it is a positive thing and could help with improving their kid’s education. They also see it as a positive impact on their lives. It is a way for the whole family to get together and have fun and just hang out. Many parents and teachers would take advantage of this so they could use it for educational purposes. They think this will help the kids get a better education and have fun while doing so. It is also fun for every generation since there are different types of games that you can play and some for the mature and some for all ages. There is also a monitoring video games program that parents can use so that they can see what their child is playing. It will allow them to view what is right for them and what is not. They are being responsible of taking care of their children.

Day 17

Today I just didn't feel like finishing my resume menu so I went back to my portfolio menu.

In my portfolio menu, I decided to animate the tentacles/arms of the octopus by using the selection tool to move the curves of the arms elsewhere to create an animation. I only did that a few of the tentacles. I also decided to animate the lovely looking eyes. I made one keyframe of where the eyes are blinking for one quick second then a few keyframes later, leave the eye open. Then add another keyframe of where it blinked again and let a few keyframes afterwards keeping the eye open. On the last keyframe, I pressed F9 for the coding and put a stop code inside so that it would let the eyes stay open.

I might change it later..

Sweet Sixteen! [Or Not..]

Today I helped finished framing the PTA Reflections so I didn't really spent that much time working on my Interactive Resume.

I started working with my resume menu and finished making the string of the balloon with the brush tool with the smallest size though. Then I added a new layer and made a light blue box with a low opacity on top of everything so it could create an ocean-ie feeling/look.

C'est Le 15th

Bonjour mes copains!

Today I worked on my next menu; resume. I got somewhat distracted which is why I didn't have much. And then Fitzer called me to help with the IMD promo video thing.

So all I did was make some balloons, filled it in with a gradient fill and duplicate the fish. And colored the cell phone.

Day Fo-teen [14]

Today I finished working on the porfolio menu. Woo-hoo...!.....

I finished coloring in all the machines (i.e. cash register, candy machine, soda machine) with a gradient fill so that it would create more effects/depth. At first it wouldn't let me fill it in with a bucket tool so I had to make the shapes a closed figure with the line tool. After that, I erased/delete the lines I create so that you wouldn't see it and it wouldn't be in the way. Also because I didn't need it anymore. I also did the same thing for the cash/money and the octopus' arms/tentacles.

Then I continued making more popcorns for the popcorn bag. I had to use the brush tool once again to make the small outlines of the popcorn and fill it in with a light yellow color with the bucket tool. Then I moved it inside the bag a bit.

Here's a close up of the lovely popcorn bag.

Here's what I have so far....

Cody and Zach suggested that I make a layer ontop of a blue overlay to create an ocean look/effect. So I made that by using the rectangle shape tool filled with a light blue color with a very low opacity.

Here's what it looks like with the blue overlay stuff that Zach and Cody suggested.

Lucky # 13

Today I continued working on my portfolio menu. I finish coloring in the popcorn with a yellow fill using the bucket tool once again. I also colored in the popcorn maker to a gray/silver color using the bucket tool but with a gradient fill to add more texture.

I also moved the arms/tentacles aside so that it will be out of the way and I can go find them later to animate it.

Day 12

Today I had to finish re-making my popcorn so I did that with the brush tool and filled it in with a yellow with the bucket tool.

After that I decided to make each of the arms/tentacles on separate layers so I can animate them later. Shortly after that, I decided to color the octopus by using the bucket tool but with a gradient color of purple and light blue/perwinkle so it could create more emotion and detail. I also changed the color of the candy bar to a gradient fill also so that it could have the same effect.

Then I decided to make a popcorn bag so that I could use that as one of my portfolio pieces and use that as a button. I used the line tool to create the shape of the bag. Then I used the line tool again to create more shape. After that, I used the bucket tool to color in the bag. I used the colors red with a lower alpha and white since it is mainly common on most popcorn bags. Then I used the oval shape tool to create a small logo on the center-front of the bag. Then I used the text to to create the logo/word.

Below is a picture of what I got so far. You like??

Day 11

Today my peer/classmate/friend Matthew 'evaluated' my porfolio menu so far. He says that the artwork is pretty good just that I need to add more color (which I will of course). He says the colors that used now are shiny which are good. He also suggests that I add more candy options. I think I'll do that. Also, he says I have a very good organization.

Well I had to highlight the whole menu and make it smaller because it was too big so once I did that, the popcorn disappeared. I tried to undo it multiple times to get it back but it never came back so I have to re-do it all over again!
